Privacy Policy
Effective Date: Thursday, 4 June 2026
Last Updated: Wednesday, 8 July 2026
Applies to: jumprecruiter.com, the Jump Recruiter mobile applications, and related services, including [jumpresumebuilder.com] (collectively, the “Services” or the “Platform”).
Jump Recruiter is committed to protecting your privacy through our compliance with applicable laws and this “Privacy Policy”. As of the Effective Date stated above, this Privacy Policy covers jumprecruiter.com and jumpresumebuilder.com.
1. Introduction and Scope
Jump Recruiter, LLC is a California limited liability company(“Jump Recruiter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy of the people who use our Platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and connected services, and describes the rights and choices available to you.
Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Use Agreement, or in any other contractual document between you and us.
This policy applies to:
Job Seekers who create accounts, build or upload résumés, and apply for roles;
Employers and Verified Employers (including recruiters and hiring managers) who post jobs, review candidates, and manage hiring; and
Visitors who browse our platform without creating an account.
If you reach a third-party website through a link on our platform, this Policy no longer applies; that site’s own privacy policy governs your information. This Policy also does not apply to applicants for employment at Jump Recruiter, which is covered by a separate recruitment notice.
Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. Where the law requires consent for a specific activity (for example, certain marketing or the collection of sensitive data), we will rely on consent and not on your general use of the Services.
2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information
Controller. Jump Recruiter is the “controller” of the personal information it collects through the Platform, meaning we decide how and why that information is processed. The Jump Recruiter legal entity responsible for your information is JUMP RECRUITER LLC, a California limited liability company.
When we act as a processor. For certain limited activities, we act as a “processor” (service provider) on behalf of an Employer — for example, where an Employer sets screening questions or where we transmit and store an application on the Employer’s instructions. For those activities, the Employer is the controller and is responsible for the information under its own policies and agreements with us.
Employers as independent controllers. Once your information is shared with an Employer in the course of your application, that Employer becomes an independent controller of the copy it receives and handles it under its own privacy practices. We do not control how an Employer uses that information. To exercise rights over the copy an Employer holds, please contact the Employer directly.
Service providers. Third parties that provide services to us (such as hosting, analytics, payment processing, and customer support) act as our processors and may handle personal information only on our documented instructions and for the purposes described in this Policy.
3. Key Definitions
• Personal Information / Personal Data: any information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be used to identify you or your personal device either directly or indirectly (e.g., name, email, phone number, résumé, application history, IP address, device identifiers, unique ID numbers).
• Sensitive / Special Category Data: personal information that warrants additional protection under applicable law — for example, government identifiers, account credentials, precise geolocation, or data revealing characteristics such as race, ethnicity, health, or sexual orientation. We do not require or seek sensitive data to use the core Services and collect it only where you choose to provide it or where the law requires us to.
• Job Seeker: an individual using the Platform to search, build a profile, or apply for positions.
• Employer: a company, recruiter, or hiring manager using the Platform to post jobs and manage candidates.
• Processing: any operation performed on personal data (collecting, storing, using, sharing, deleting, and so on).
• Controller / Processor: the controller decides how and why data is processed; a processor (service provider) processes data on the controller’s instructions.
• Cookies and Similar Technologies: small files and identifiers (including pixels and SDKs) that recognize devices, analyze usage, and support Platform features (see Section 11).
4. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on whether you are a Job Seeker, an Employer, or a Visitor. The categories below use the labels common to U.S. state privacy laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA) and describe the categories of personal information collected by Jump Recruiter.

Please note, we may not be able to perform all aspects of the contracts we have or are trying to enter with you if you fail to provide all of the Personal Data we request. If you fail to provide any such data, Jump Recruiter may be forced to cancel the service you have with Jump Recruiter.
Jump Recruiter does not require any Sensitive Data about you in order for you to access the Services. Please carefully consider the information contained within your resume, job applications, and job postings to ensure they do not contain any sensitive or other information that is not necessary for your job application, job search, or employee recruitment. Before submitting any information, you hereby agree to review all such information and agree to be solely responsible for the information you submit.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not currently “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide the opt-out choices the law requires before doing so.
5. Sources of Personal Information
• Directly from you — You may give us Personal Information by filling in forms, corresponding with us by phone, e-mail, or otherwise. This includes, but is not limited to, Personal Information you provide when you: create an account, complete a profile, request information be sent to you, build or upload a résumé, apply to jobs, communicate with us, or submit feedback or support requests.
• Automatically from your device — As you interact with the Jump Recruiter Services, Jump Recruiter may automatically collect technical and usage data (IP address, browser, device, session activity, clicks, searches) collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 11).
• From Jump Resume Builder — When you use Jump Recruiter’s Resume Builder to create résumés, profile details, and templates you save may be used within Jump Recruiter to improve job matching and candidate visibility.
• From third parties — Jump Recruiter may receive Personal Information in the form of technical data and usage data from various third parties such as social-login providers (e.g., Google, LinkedIn) when you choose to sign in with them, analytics and performance tools, payment processors, and, where you have consented, marketing partners.
6. How and Why We Use Your Information
We will only use your personal information for lawful, transparent purposes to provide services directly to you and/or to provide services on behalf of our clients, except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. For users in the EEA, the UK, and other regions that require a legal basis, the table below maps each purpose to the basis we rely on under the GDPR (or equivalent law).
Purpose | What this involves | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
Providing the Services | Creating and managing accounts; enabling job applications, postings, candidate search, messaging, subscriptions, and billing | Performance of a contract |
Matching & personalization | Recommending jobs to seekers and candidates to employers; tailoring content | Contract; legitimate interests in providing a relevant service |
Communications | Service messages, confirmations, and support responses; newsletters and product updates | Contract (service messages); consent or legitimate interests (marketing) |
Security & fraud prevention | Detecting and blocking unauthorized access, spam, and misuse; enforcing our Terms | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
Analytics & improvement | Understanding usage, testing features, and producing aggregated or anonymized statistics | Legitimate interests |
Legal compliance | Responding to lawful requests, meeting regulatory duties, and resolving disputes | Legal obligation |
Business operations | Backups, maintenance, reporting, audits, and continuity or transaction planning | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and only proceed where they are not overridden. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (see Section 17).
7. Profile Visibility and Résumé Searchability
Because Jump Recruiter is a hiring platform, some Job Seeker information is designed to be seen by Employers. You control how visible your profile is:
• “Visible to Employers.” If your profile is set so that Employers can find you, Employers may search for and view your profile and résumé and invite you to apply. A profile in this state may be accessible through a generated link.
• “Not visible to Employers.” If you set your profile so Employers cannot find you, it is shared with an Employer only at your direction — for example, when you apply to a specific job.
You can change your visibility setting at any time in your account. Please note that once you apply to a job or an Employer accesses your information, that Employer holds its own copy and may share it within its organization or with its applicant-tracking provider; we cannot control that downstream use.
8. Automated Decision-Making, Profiling, and AI
• Job and candidate matching: Jump Recruiter uses automated decision making to improve its Services. For example, Jump Recruiter may use algorithms to suggest jobs to seekers and candidates to Employers based on profile, résumé, and activity data.
• Profiling: we analyze résumés, applications, and usage to generate recommendations and insights.
• Human oversight: Employers — not Jump Recruiter — make final hiring decisions. We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
• Use of AI: we may use statistical and AI-assisted features to improve matching, summarize profiles, or support search. AI output can be imperfect and should be reviewed; it does not replace human judgment in hiring.
• Your rights: in the EEA, the UK, and certain U.S. states, you may object to profiling or request human review (see Sections 15–17).
9. How We Share and Disclose Information
Jump Recruiter requires all third parties to treat your Personal Information in accordance with the law, and permit third-party data processors to use your Personal Information only for specified purposes in accordance with our instructions and this Privacy Policy. We share personal information only where it is necessary, lawful, and consistent with this Policy:
• With Employers (at your direction): when you apply or interact with an Employer, your application materials are disclosed to that Employer, who then acts as an independent controller.
• With Job Seekers: Employer job postings, company information, and contact details necessary for recruitment are made visible to Job Seekers.
• Within the Jump ecosystem: résumé and profile data from Jump Resume Builder may be used within Jump Recruiter to improve matching and candidate visibility.
• With service providers: hosting, analytics, billing, security, and support vendors that process data only on our instructions under written agreements.
• For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, cooperate with regulators or law enforcement, or protect the rights, property, and safety of users, the public, and our Services.
• In business transfers: if our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your information may transfer to the successor, subject to this Policy until you are notified otherwise.
10. “Sale,” “Sharing,” and Targeted Advertising
Some U.S. state laws define a “sale” or “share” of personal information broadly to include certain disclosures for valuable consideration or for cross-context behavioral advertising. As of the Effective Date, Jump Recruiter does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Disclosures to our service providers for the purposes described in this Policy are not “sales.” If our practices change, we will update this Policy and offer a clear opt-out (including honoring Global Privacy Control signals where required) before any such activity begins.
After you visit our website and/or use our Services, you may receive targeted advertisements regarding Jump Recruiter when visiting other websites. This occurs because we allow third party vendors to provide you with information about our Services, based on your interactions with our Website and/or Services.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tools for essential functions, performance, personalization, and limited marketing.
• Strictly necessary cookies are required for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off.
• You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings, available opt-out tools, or our cookie banner where provided. If you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain functions on our website, or our Services.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control.
Jump Recruiter does not currently alter its practices or respond to standard browser-initiated "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, as there is no uniform industry standard for how these signals should be interpreted. However, we do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law. If you reside in a jurisdiction that mandates GPC recognition (such as California) and use a browser or extension that transmits a GPC signal, we will recognize it as a directive to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, and out of targeted advertising, for that browser or device.
12. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Different retention periods will apply, depending on the type of Personal Information. When determining the appropriate retention period, Jump Recruiter will consider several factors, including but not limited to: the reason for which we held the Personal Information; legal, accounting, reporting, or other regulatory obligations; the current status of Jump Recruiter’s relationship with you, any specific requests you have previously made regarding the deletion or retention of your Personal Information; and Jump Recruiter’s interest in managing and protecting its own rights.
• Account data: retained while your account is active. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize personal data unless the law requires retention (for example, tax or fraud-prevention records).
• Job Seekers: résumés, profiles, and applications remain stored until you delete them or close your account. Copies already shared with Employers stay under their control.
• Employers: account data (such as postings and billing) is retained as long as needed for the Services and legal obligations; candidate data Employers receive follows their own retention practices.
• Logs and communications: retained for limited periods needed for security, audits, or investigations.
• Anonymized / aggregated data: may be kept indefinitely because it cannot identify you.
13. International Data Transfers
Jump Recruiter operates globally, so your personal information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States, which may have different data-protection standards.
Safeguards for EEA/UK/Swiss users. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards required by law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), supported by measures such as encryption, access controls, and vendor due diligence.
For users elsewhere, we follow applicable local rules on cross-border transfers and apply comparable protections. You may request more information about these safeguards using the contact details in Section 25.
14. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of your information, including:
• Encryption: sensitive data such as credentials and payments is encrypted in transit (e.g., TLS) and protected using industry-standard methods.
• Access controls: role-based restrictions limit access to authorized staff and approved service providers.
• Monitoring: automated systems, logs, and alerts help us detect and respond to unusual or malicious activity.
• Assessments: we carry out risk assessments and reviews to strengthen our security over time.
• Resilience: we maintain backups and recovery processes to support continuity of service.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not guarantee absolute security. Please protect your credentials and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized activity. If a data breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and regulators where the law requires. The safety of your Personal Information also depends on you, and Jump Recruiter asks that you do not share your login credentials with anyone, and that you take other reasonable steps to keep your account information secure.
15. Your Privacy Rights (EEA, UK, and Similar Regions)
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or a region with comparable laws, you have the following rights, subject to legal limits:
• Access — obtain a copy of your personal data upon your request that Jump Recruiter provide you with a copy of such information (subject to certain restrictions under appliable law).

• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — You have the right to request that we delete your Personal Data (subject to certain restrictions under applicable law).
Correction – You may request that we correct any incomplete or inaccurate Personal Data we hold about you. However, Jump Recruiter has the right to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us. For information in your user account, you may correct the information yourself directly in your account.
• Restriction — limit our processing in certain circumstances.
• Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing and profiling.
• Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw such consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. Further, if you withdraw your consent, Jump Recruiter may not be able to provide certain products or services to you any longer.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, although we encourage you to contact us first.
16. Your US. State Privacy Rights
Several U.S. states — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others — provide residents with privacy rights. Where these laws apply, you may have the right to:
